November 2014 event

Goldfields Sustainability Group display at the RACV Energy Breakthrough  Nov 21-22 2014

The November activity saw GSG members exhibit sustainability information at the Energy Expo at Princess Park Maryborough.

A marquee was set up to display information about the past years GSG events and included the climate quiz used at the September Market day event.

GSG  also displayed information about the Maryborough Street Harvest project which encourages people to share excess food from their gardens.

The display included a 20 litre plastic see thru wicking garden that was the start of many conversations about gardening and GSG activites.

An eye catching feature of the display was a 44 gallon drum modified for use as a wicking garden by Goldfields Employment and Learning Centre.

Both wicking gardens were displayed to publicise the community garden project which has been set up with unusual wicking gardens at the former Cal Gully oval ( New Salvation Army site)
